Hello, my name is Hannah Meier! I am originally from Berlin, Germany, but am now living in Utah, where I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Utah. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a focus in Philosophy from Reed College in Portland, OR. My overarching research interest is understanding how aquatic organisms buffer the impacts of anthropogenic climate change. My undergraduate research focus was on the impacts of thermal acclimation on phytoplankton populations. In grad school, I am studying the impacts of anthropogenic climate change on the microbial community in the Great Salt Lake, incorporating field, lab, remote sensing, and quantitative approaches.
